IMG_1657Why NaLaSa Quilting Designs? It is the combination of the first two initials of my and my daughters names – Na(ncy) La(uren) and Sa(rah). I love my girls and they are my inspiration!

I received a Master of Science in Accounting, and became a C.P.A. for one of the large Accounting firms. I loved it. Believe it or not, accounting and taxation in specific can be a creative field.

In 2003, I left that behind when we move to Moscow, Russia. I began quilting in 2006. A friend was going to a quilting class offered by a fellow expat. I liked my friend, and wanted to spend more time with her so I went along. I really had no desire to quilt. But once I began, I was hooked. Here we are, a decade later, and I can’t believe how much it has encompassed my life!

I hope you follow my journey in discovering why I love quilting. It has been a blessing to move to Houston, Texas. Since 2006, we spent another 3 years in Moscow, Russia, then 1 1/2years  in San Francisco, CA, followed by 3 years in Singapore. In 2013, we moved to Houston. Now that I am here, I have been taking courses, going to retreats, joined the local guild, and I am loving it.

Happy quilting . . . .
