Is the SideWinder available in Singapore? I'm just here until May, and my Bernette 46 arrived with a broken bobbin winder! I need help! Thanks.

What fun! I grew up in a family of golfers and I tried--I did, really--to learn to hit that tiny, wee ball with the great long skinny club, but to little avail. If we ever meet, I can share (over a bottle of wine) some really humiliating, but now funny, stories about my failed attempts. Funny thing, once in a while I think about trying again. I caddied for my dad and always loved that part of being on the course--fresh air, hills to climb, and so on. Thanks also for the great New Year's images. I can almost hear the music and smell the food!

Debby, that is terrible! I had to laugh though, if that had been my husband's comment, I might be in prison now. lol. We will see how it goes. I am going to put in a lot of effort this spring to see if I get to a point of enjoyment.

Glad you are enjoying a new hobby. I retired my golf clubs when my first husband drove the cart into the woods, handed me a tree limb and told me maybe I could do better with that. I chose tears instead of life in prison and have never touched a golf club again. Great photos of Chinese New Year. How fun.

I'm with Ali. I just hate unthreading my machine to wind a bobbin. Like yesterday when I only lacked the short side of the binding on my charity quilt! But I've wondered if the bobbin winders work well. Now I think I'll buy one. Thanks for the endorsement.

I have one of these and I love it, mostly because I hate to stop and wind bobbins in the middle of a project. The portability is a big plus--I'll wind a dozen bobbins while watching a movie, for instance. And since I've already blown out a heating pad and coffee maker in Beijing so far, the battery option is helpful. Watch out for those slithering Sidewinders!
